Sonoma County Deputy Sheriffs' Association Political Action Information
The Sonoma County Deputy Sheriffs' Association has a political action committee (PAC) that works closely with the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC) to monitor senate and assembly bills, ballot initiatives and candidates for elected offices.
Our PAC provides monthly reports to the Executive Board of the Association on political activities that have a potential impact on public safety and/or the security and working rights of peace officers and their associations. When necessary, the DSA will consider supporting candidates and initiatives it feels may have a positive impact on public safety. Conversely, we will vigorously oppose candidates and initiatives that we feel will have a negative impact on public safety or hamper the ability of peace officers to adequately protect the public.
Our PAC will give consideration to all requests from candidates seeking endorsement if the candidate's election will have an impact on our ability to provide public safety services to the jurisdiction in which the candidate is seeking office. Upon receipt of a PAC request, the DSA's PAC will review and make a recommendation to the Executive Board as to whether a candidate should be supported and/or endorsed by the DSA.
In order to expedite PAC requests, candidates for office and initiative authors seeking endorsement and support of the DSA should complete the below form for submission to our PAC for review. Once we receive your message, someone from our PAC will respond to your inquiry as soon as possible to discuss your request.
Thank you,
Sonoma County DSA PAC
